Victoria Beattie is an accredited therapist with an MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, specialising in working with children, young people and families with SEND. She has over 20 years’ experience supporting children and adolescents across the North East and is the Director of Kalmer Counselling, an accredited school‑based counselling service.
She is a consultant lecturer at the University of Northumbria, teaching on the Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs) programme (a government initiative jointly delivered by the DfE and the NHS) Her core area of expertise is the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties.
She also serves as co‑chair of an Advisory Committee for an alternative provision, vice‑chair of a local authority primary school, and a Trauma consultant for Prosper Trust, an academy trust of five schools ranging from hospital education to specialist SEND provision.
For the past seven years, her service has been commissioned by CNTW to provide counselling for children and young people from the Neurodivergent community.
Kalmer Counselling, founded by Victoria over 15 years ago, has grown into a team of more than 50 therapists working across primary, secondary, special needs and alternative provision settings throughout the North East of England. The service also offers private therapy at its dedicated centre for anyone seeking mental health support.
