In this session we will discuss why the development of play is so important in preparation for adulthood and life beyond school. They will outline the social and cognitive stages of play and outline strategies for developing these with children and young people that have Complex Executive Functioning and Communication Needs.
The session will cover how play is used to develop learning within Sunningdale School across the school’s various curriculum pathways, as well as how the school’s development of the use and understanding of engagement motivators over 6 years ago is used to support this.
