Dr Jo Grace has led The Sensory Projects for more than a decade, in this time the projects have grown from just one project: The Sensory Stories Project to Five even Six projects (depending on how you count them!) Each project has focused on people described as having profound and multiple learning disabilities and has sought to innovate or deepen understanding. The Sensory Projects have won multiple awards and influenced practice internationally in the field of profound disability.
Dr Jo will join us for two sessions during which she will chart the history of the projects sharing practical tips from them and exploring their philosophical foundations. We begin with how The Sensory Story project listened to choice from people with profound disabilities in a meaningful way and end with Jo’s recent adventures exploring Belonging for and with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
This is a two-part session – the 1st part will run on Wednesday 30th September 2026
