How Ofsted evaluates outstanding practice
My presentation will be: ‘ How Ofsted evaluates outstanding practice’. It will include how inspectors judge the effectiveness of outcomes, teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and leadership and management. It will include the changes contained within the common inspection framework and explain about the new short inspections of good/outstanding schools.

Lesley Cox has been one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Schools (HMI) since 2012. She has taught across all phases of education, including in early years and further education, and was a senior leader in a number of secondary schools. Before joining Ofsted she was previously a headteacher of a large pupil referral unit judged to be outstanding. She has particular expertise in the support of DSEN students within specialist and mainstream settings. She is currently a National Lead for Disability and Special Educational Needs within Ofsted.
