Nurturing Touch for those with PMLD
with Julia Barnes
This session considers the importance of nurturing touch, particularly to people with PMLD who may be prioritising it as a channel to communicate and interact with the world. The session considers how humans are wired for social touch and the ability it has to form bonds and express oneself. People with PMLD experience high levels of touch throughout their lives and attendees will be able to consider how to make these touch encounters personalised, communicative and nurturing within the context of the legal frameworks schools operate within in the UK.
